Men's Basketball - Dale Bates Tournament Champions

Men's basketball returned from Eugene, OR as the Dale Bates Tournament Champions, going a perfect 3-0.  In their opening game against the host Lane CC Titans the Clippers erased a 9-point halftime deficit to secure the 69-59 victory.  Tournament MVP, sophomore CaCoa Chatman, led the Clippers with 26 points.  Fellow sophomores Ben Janssan and Branden Bunn contributed 13 and 17 points respectively, and Anthony Braggs cleaned up the glass pulling down 12 rebounds.  

Day two of the Tournament saw a back and forth battle between SPSC and Umpqua, before Chatman scored the game-winning basket with 8 seconds left, and Bunn stole the ball from Umpqua to seal the victory 67-65 for the Clippers.  CaCoa once again dropped a game high 26 points, going 6-8 from beyond the arc, and All-Tournament Team selection Branden Bunn added 15 points of his own to pace the Clippers. 

On the final day, SPSCC faced off against the University of Oregon Club team, where they used balanced scoring, and big contributions from their bench, to bring home the 99-73 victory, and Dale Bates Tournament Championship.  Braggs, Chatman, and Janssan all saw double digit scoring with 17, 18, and 19 points respectively, with Janssan also adding 11 rebounds for the double-double.  Off the bench Pharaoh Williams added 11 points and Torin Tinnin added 9 points and 7 rebounds of his own.
