Men's Basketball Goes 2-1 in NWAC Crossover

Men's basketball traveled to North Idaho College for the NWAC Crossover Tournament where they went 2-1 on the weekend.  On the opening night of the Tournament SPS took on the Cardinals of NIC in a high-scoring battle, with NIC coming out on top 111-82.  Branden Bunn, CaCoa Chatman, and Ben Janssan all saw double digit scoring with 18, 15, and 21 points respectively.  Westin Wallace and Torin Tinnin came off the bench to contribute 6 and 7 points for the Clippers.

Saturday SPS took on Chemeketa in another high-scoring affair, with the Clippers breaking triple digits with the 107-98 victory over the Storm.  Anthony Braggs and Ben Janssan both had huge double-doubles, with Braggs posting a game-high 32 points and 10 rebounds, and Janssan adding 27 points, 10 rebounds of his own.  CaCoa Chatman directed the Clippers offense adding 22 points and 6 assists on the night.  The Clippers shot an impressive 57% from the floor and 44% from beyond the arc. 

SPSCC finished out the Crossover Sunday morning with the 67-63 victory over Bellevue College.  Braggs once again posted a double-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds.  CaCoa Chatman and Branden Bunn both added 16 points, and Ben Janssan pulled down 14 rebounds for the Clippers.  Torin Tinnin came in to add 9 points for the Clippers.  

The Clippers will enjoy winter break before returning to the court Saturday December 28th as they participate in the Clackamas CC Holiday Tournament, when they take on the host Cougars at 6pm.  The first home game for SPSCC is Saturday January 4th at 2pm against Olympic College.  Reminder, all home games are played at The Evergreen State College as construction continues on the Health and Wellness Center.
