Men's Soccer Season Wraps Up

The SPSCC soccer team, under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Juan P. Murrillo, ended their 2018 season with an overall record of 2-11-2 including going 2-8-2 in the conference.

The Clippers season started to pick up speed in mid September, with hard fought tied matches against Pierce and Bellevue. On October 10 they pulled out a victory at Bellevue with a goal from freshman Yitagesu Dowty. Their final match on October 27 saw them gain their biggest victory of the season as they defeated Bellevue 3-0, with goals from freshmen Jerry Lara (2) and Dominic Ceu Bik (1).

Jerry Lara ended the season tied at number three in most shots taken in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) with 56 shots and tied for number 10 in goals. He condcluded the season with 10 points.

At the end of year banquet, sophomore Alexander Amado was awarded an NWAC Academic Excellence Award, given to sophomore players who have earned 36 or more credits and have a 3.25 or better cumulative GPA. Additional awards were given to Dawson Hall (Most Improved), Drew Amburgy (Most Inspirational), Dominic Ciu Bek (Coaches Award) and Jerry Lara (MVP).

With four sophomores and eleven freshmen on the roster the Clippers look forward to a seasoned line-up for the 2019 season.
