Saloum Malang netted his first career goal, but it was not enough as the Clippers lost to Pierce College 2-1 in a West Region battle Wednesday evening. The match was even through the first period until a curving long ball from Pierce's Kolin Springs just before half found Pierce heading into half with the 1-0 lead. A quick goal to open the 2nd by the Raiders put SPS down 2-0, but their will to win saw the Clippers doubling their shots in the 2nd half, with Malang finding the back of the net with 11 minutes remaining. Many close shots fell just wide to close out the West Region match with the final 2-1 Pierce. The Clippers return to action as they host Bellevue College this Saturday at the RAC in Lacey at 2:15.
