Clippers Women’s Basketball wrapped up their 2018-19 season March 1 at home versus Green River, winning 74-52.  The home finale also served as the last game in a Clipper uniform for three sophomores. 

Among those honored was Trinity Betoney, who concluded her Clippers career by earning the distinction of being named NWAC West Region Most Valuable Player, the first in school history. Betoney was second in the league for points and third in rebounds, averaging 21.6 pts and 10.1 rebounds per game.

“Trinity came to our program late, but made an immediate impact both on the court and in the classroom as she finished up with a high GPA during winter quarter to go along with her MVP honors. It's a true testament to all her hard work and leadership for the Clipper family," said Head Coach Mike Moore.

Academically, sophomore Mikayla Collins, a two sport athlete for the Clippers (basketball and volleyball), was recognized as part of the NWAC Academic Excellence Team. She and Betoney, along with sophomore Rianna Whitehead, will graduate this spring.

Moore commended the academic performance, saying  "We are proud of all our student-athletes as we had a 3.1 cumulative team GPA through winter quarter. We are also very proud of our approach and effort through league play as we held our own and competed against all the teams in the Western Region throughout."

The Clippers finished the season 7-20 (5-9 in the NWAC West).
