Women's Basketball NWAC Crossover Results

Women's basketball traveled to Bellevue College over the weekend for the NWAC Crossover where they took on Mt Hood, Walla Walla and Bellevue, going 0-3 on the weekend.  Friday night the Clippers took on Mt Hood where a slow 1st half was too much to overcome for the Clippers, as they fell 98-44.  Keilani Brown, Jasmine Griffin and Lainee Grose all posted double-digit scoring with 10, 10 and 16 points respectively.  Griffin also added 6 steals and 7 rebounds for the Clippers.

Saturday SPSCC took on Walla Walla, falling to the Warriors 82-40.  Freshmen Angelica Francisco led the Clippers with 11 points, and Lainee Grose pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds for SPS.

The Clippers closed out the Crossover Tournament taking on the host Bellevue, hanging tight with the Bulldogs until fouls at the end made the final score 72-58.  Lainee Grose posted 18 points on 3-5 from beyond the arc and pulled down 9 rebounds, Angelica Francisco added 12, and Keilani Brown 11 to lead the scoring for SPSCC.

SPSCC women's basketball will enjoy a winter break before returning to the court on Saturday December 28th at 3pm as they take on Olympic College in the Skagit Valley College Holiday Tournament.  The first home game for the Clippers is Wednesday January 8th as they open up West Region play against the Tacoma Titans at 6pm.  Reminder, all home games will take place at The Evergreen State College as construction of the Health and Wellness Center continues at SPSCC.
