AJ Hodges, who was a standout guard at SPSCC from 2016-2018, is thriving as a junior transfer at Corban University in Salem Oregon. Hodges leads the Warriors in scoring at 15.6 points per game and has come up big in Cascade Conference wins against nationally ranked teams. In the last two weeks Corban dropped College of Idaho, who was #2 in the nation when the Warriors earned a road win behind Hodges 33 points. Then last week Hodges took over again, earning him Cascade Conference Player of the week.

SPSCC Head Coach Aaron Landon said of Hodges, “AJ is a stud, I’m not surprised at all to see what he’s doing at Corban, because he did this type of stuff the entire time he was here. AJ is a flat out winner, and we are lucky to have been part of his journey as a player and person.”

The Warrior men's basketball team registered two massive wins over the weekend, downing Southern Oregon in double overtime, 94-92. Corban then followed that up with a big-time performance against No. 10 Oregon Tech, winning 90-75.

Hodges was clutch all weekend long for (RV) Corban, scoring 46 total points in the Warriors' two wins over Southern Oregon and No. 10 Oregon Tech. Against the Raiders (28 points), he hit the game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer in the first overtime to force 2OT; and in the second overtime, he nailed the game-winning fade-away jumper to lift Corban to the victory. Against No. 10 Oregon Tech, he scored 18 more points and helped the Warriors lead wire-to-wire in the upset triumph.

"AJ is a fearless competitor who is ready for any situation that he faces because of all the hard work that he has done to prepare himself to help his Team compete," said Corban head men's basketball coach Mitch Freeman. "His infectious personality is admired and respected by everyone in our program, and he is a big reason why we have been successful this year."
