OLYMPIA, Wash. - The #10 ranked Bellevue College Bulldogs visited the Regional Athletic Complex on Saturday for a matchup with SPSCC's men's soccer program. The Clippers were underdogs in the eyes of many when the match started and gave up two goals in the first thirty minutes. However, they showed great resolve and responded with a goal of their own in the twenty-eight minute. The goal came on a penalty kick from captain Joshua Coetzee, bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Physical play just before the halftime break would see multiple yellow cards given to the Bulldogs in a short period. However, Coach Schultz rallied his team during the break, which showed in the second half as the Clippers played with greater pace and control. The adjustments paid off when fan-favorite Yuta Shimazu dribbled through the Bulldog defense and connected on a shot in the seventy-fourth minute to tie the match.
In the final fifteen minutes, there were multiple promising scoring attacks from both clubs, but none materialized into a game-winning goal, and the match would finish 2-2.
