Clipper Come Up Short Versus #7 Everett

Everett, WASH. - Facing their third straight ranked opponent, the Clippers battled but were overpowered by the # 7 ranked Everett Community College Trojans, 8-2. Coach Sampson's team entered the match with renewed confidence after playing #2 ranked Walla Walla to a tie. However, according to Sampson, the Clippers' issues with maintaining possession have prevented them from finding more success in the attacking third.

Standout Freshman Joscha Schulte-Holtey continued his steady play for South Puget Sound, as he connected on a free kick from 23 yards to score the Clipper's first goal in the 50th minute. Schulte-Holtey also drew the penalty in the box in the 64th minute, which allowed for a penalty kick from Antheny Leal, who converted the attempt.

After the match, Coach Sampson said, "The big idea right now is to improve in possession and transition into our attacking shapes, but also to hit the refresh button and be fully focused on getting points on the table."
