The South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) women's basketball team will look to continue its strong start to the season when the Clippers head to Spokane to participate in the Bigfoot Classic.

The three-day Northwest Athletic Conference crossover event begins on Friday, December 10 with SPSCC (3-1) facing host Spokane Community College (2-4).

The Clippers will also play Walla Walla Community College (3-2) on Saturday, December 11 and Edmonds College (2-5) on Sunday, December 12.  All three games will be streamed live on the NWAC Sports Network.

The Clippers are coming off their first loss of the season, an 82-59 home setback against visiting Lane Community College on December 4. In that game SPSCC fell behind early, trailing by 14 points at the end of the first quarter, and were never able to get back into the contest.

Freshman point guard Kayla Jackson paced the Clippers' offense, scoring 15 points while pulling down six rebounds, handing out four assists and registering three steals and a block.

Freshman post Jennie Goldsberry continued her stellar season by notching her third consecutive double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds against the Titans. SPSCC also received 10 points and 8 rebounds from Payten Foster, 9 points from Brandie Tobin and 7 assists from Honey Let Padasdao in the defeat.

Clipper freshman Sharay Trotter is fourth in the NWAC in scoring, averaging 18 points per game. She also ranks ninth in field goal percentage at 57.1, fourth in steals at 3.3 an outing and sixth in blocks (1.7). Foster joins Trotter atop the conference's steals leaders as she sits sixth in the NWAC.

Additional SPSCC players ranking among the top 10 include Goldsberry, who's is third in blocks (2.0) and sixth in rebounds with 10.8) per game and Jackson, who is tied for eighth in assists.
