Women's Basketball Defeats #7 Whatcom Community College

OLYMPIA, Wash. - The Clippers hosted the NWAC's #7 ranked team, the Whatcom Community College Orcas, on Tuesday night inside the Health and Wellness Center. From the opening tip, the Clippers were firing on all cylinders offensively and playing their trademark smothering defense. After falling behind by five in the first quarter, Sharay Trotter began to take over the game by forcing turnovers and finishing on the break. Trotter finished the game with 23 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Sophomore transfer Emma Stadler controlled the paint for the Clippers, finishing with a game-high eleven rebounds and ten points.

Defense and rebounding have been staples for this year's women's basketball program and tonight was no different. In addition to out-rebounding the Orcas by 21, the Clippers forced 24 turnovers, leading to 18 points. Freshman Kadance Blankers led the Clipper's second unit and connected on five of seven three-point attempts en route to 20 points off the bench.

Next up: The Clippers head into a mini-break for the holiday and will play their next game on November 29th at home against Skagit Valley. Tip-off is at 5:30 pm, and a live stream will be available via the NWAC Sports Network.
