Clippers Hold Off Late Rally From SVC to Secure Fifth Win.

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Tuesday night marked the first time since the 2017-18 season that the SPSCC women's basketball program had started a season with four straight victories. Unfortunately, the 2017-18 team could not secure the fifth consecutive win, but that was not the case tonight as the Clippers jumped out to an early lead against the visiting Cardinals of Skagit Valley College. The Clippers would employ their signature full-court pressure defense to stymie the Skagit Valley offense and force 13 first-half turnovers.

South Puget Sound forced three turnovers to start the third quarter and converted on all three possessions en route to an 18-8 margin in the quarter. The fourth quarter saw the Cardinals make multiple runs, including trimming the lead to four points with thirty-two seconds remaining before Kadance Blankers knocked down a deep three-point shot to give the Clippers some breathing room. Sophomore standouts Sharay Trotter and Payten Foster continued their dominant starts to the season with twenty-eight and fifteen points, respectively.
