Clipper Push Winning Streak to 6 Games Behind Trotter's 27

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Six in a row! What an opening to the season for the South Puget Sound women's basketball program. Despite adversity in the first half against a formidable Clark College team, the Clippers fought to overcome their nine-point halftime deficit using their swarming pressure defense and big-time performances from Brandie Tobin, Sharay Trotter, and Payten Foster. The trio combines for 51 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists, and 11 steals! Freshman Kadance Blankers would also continue her sharp perimeter shooting by knocking down two big threes for the Clippers that helped regain momentum.

With four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the Clippers trailed 54-56. Two key layups from Sharay Trotter and a steal by Emma Stadler pushed the Clippers ahead, and they wrapped up the come-from-behind victory, 62-58. During the post-game wrapup, Coach Vining shared that she was proud of her team for battling and rebounding from a slow first-half start. The win gives the Clippers their best start in recent memory, and they will look to extend their winning streak this weekend as they head to the Columbia Basin College Invitational in Pasco, Washington.
