Volleyball Secures First Victory of the Season at Bellevue Tournament

BELLEVUE, Wash.- Clipper volleyball traveled to Bellevue, WA, for their season-opening tournament. The Clippers would face four NWAC opponents over the two-day event.

DAY ONE- August 26th, 2022

South Puget Sound Community College vs. North Idaho College

SPSCC opened the season with a tough North Idaho College team that took the victory in three sets. However, the Clippers showed promise in the opening match of the year and made a rally in the third set.

South Puget Sound Community College vs. Community Colleges of Spokane

The Clippers looked to build off the momentum they built late in the first match as they faced off with Community Colleges of Spokane in the day's second match. Coach Kuaea's squad showed grit and battled back to win in five sets! Following the win, Coach Kuaea shared, " The ladies finished off today with a win over Spokane. They beat them in a close five-set match, showing great perseverance and teamwork."

DAY TWO- August 27th, 2022

South Puget Sound Community College vs. Clark College

South Puget Sound's opening match on Saturday saw them face off with Clark College, and it proved to be an exciting match. Three of the four sets featured a margin of victory of six or fewer. According to the Coaching Staff, "We had players doing some good things, and we also came away with keys for practice next week."

South Puget Sound Community College vs. Linn-Benton Community College

The last game of the trip saw the Clippers show moxie as they faced off with a quality Linn-Benton program. Linn-Benton finished last season with a 32-2 record and a championship match loss to Skagit Valley. This matchup was an excellent test for South Puget Sound as they start the 2022 season. Although the Clippers would drop all three sets to LBCC, they improved each set's score!
