Volleyball Downs Centralia on Annual Dig Pink Night

The typical blue gym in the SPSCC Health & Wellness Center was turned pink tonight in honor of breast cancer survivors, those currently battling, and the memories of ones we have lost to the disease. The Clippers honored them in style, completing the 3-0 sweep of the Centralia Blazers.

Centralia pulled ahead in the first set 16-15 and the Clippers were down 20-23 but tied it at 24 before going on to win 26-24. SPSCC couldn't quite get it going early in the second set, getting down 9-14 before evening the score at 18 all. It was tied at 19 and 20 as well before the Clippers took control winning the last 5 points and the set by a score of 25-20. In the third set, the Clippers jumped out to an early lead. The Blazers hung around, able to keep it within 5 points until the score was 14-9. The Clippers then went on a 5-1 run and never looked back. They won the third set 25-19 to earn the sweep.

The Clippers head out on the road next week as they take on the Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday, before finishing up their final two regular season games at home. The Clippers maintain control of their destiny as they currently sit in fourth place, if they can hold onto that ranking they will earn themselves a spot in the NWAC Playoffs.
