Women's Soccer Program Earns First Victory

TUKWILA, Wash. – On Tuesday morning, coach Becca Mader led the Clippers to the first victory in program history as they shut out Treasure Valley four-nil. Jordyn Thomas scored in the 40th minute to break the stalemate, and Karma Valentine would score off an assist from Samantha Calderon-Rodriguez in the 44th minute. Coming out of the halftime break, SPSCC would add two more goals, the first coming from Samantha Calderon-Rodriguez and the final from Karma Valentine in the 75th minute.

A lot of "firsts" took place in the victory. It was the first victory for the program, and Coach Mader, the program's first shut out and marked the first collegiate goals from Thomas, Valentine, and Calderon-Rodriguez. After the match, Coach Mader shared, "This was a great team win for us; four goals and a shut out. It was an awesome way to get our first win as a program."

The Clippers will look to build off of their victory when they take the field on Wednesday night against Bellevue College at the Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Friendlies.
